Marking this year’s International Day of the Midwife (05 May 2021) the Saolta University Health Care Group is asking people thinking about a future career to consider becoming a midwife.
As part of the hospitals’ response to COVID-19, visitor restrictions were introduced to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect all mothers, babies and healthcare staff.
These restrictions are under continual review and each maternity unit carries out regular risk assessments around visiting restrictions taking into account community transmission rates, local infrastructure within the unit and staffing.
Covid-19 vaccinations continue at the Galway Racecourse vaccination centre in Ballybrit. Hospitals in Saolta University Health Care Group are identifying patients who fall into Category 4a and 4 b (very high-risk patients) who require vaccination. This is a large group of patients, we are contacting them by text or telephone informing them of the date and time of vaccination appointment. Please follow the instructions and attend for your vaccination.
Galway University Hospitals Staff invite you to join us in remembering all our patients especially those who died, may they rest in peace.
We invite you to join us for an Ecumenical Service via our webcam
As staff of Galway University Hospitals we feel privileged to be present during such a personal family event as a loved one’s death. We acknowledge your sadness and grief. We hope that you will find some solace in knowing that we continue to remember you and your loved one.
At the end of last year the Heart Failure Service developed by Portiuncula University Hospital and Galway Primary Care introduced virtual heart failure clinics for GPs in East Galway to discuss treatment plans and improve patient care. Once a week up to six GPs can discuss individual patient symptoms and treatment with the Heart Failure Team, on a one to one basis, via video conference.
The Social Work Department at Galway University Hospitals are inviting family and friends of patients in the hospital to email a letter, photo which will be printed, popped into an envelope and delivered to their loved one in hospital.
Mar gheall ar meadú tapa ar rátaí ionfhabhtaithe COVID-19 i nGaillimh, tá FSS ag obair i gcomhair leis an nGarda Síochána agus leis an Rialtas Áitiúil chun iarraidh ar an bpobal fanacht ar an airdeall agus cosc a chur le scaipeadh an víris sa bpobal.
