Purpose of the Post:

To be responsible for the management, care and treatment of service users, to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the designated area(s) of responsibility.

The primary role of the CNM 1 will be one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team, including the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where this is appropriate.

The vacancy is in :

• St Francis Ward – General surgical ward, PUH (full time, specified purpose 22/02/2026 – 15/02/2027 Maternity leave cover),

The successful candidate must be available to take up duty no later than 2nd March 2026 and work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises.

A panel will be formed for Clinical Nurse Manager 1, Surgical, Portiuncula University Hospital from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled.
