Location of Post

Initial assignment will be to HIPE Department, Galway University Hospitals. The assignment is to the GUH campus which includes University Hospital, Galway and Merlin Park University Hospital. You may work in either one of these, both of these or rotate between these sites according to the needs of the department.

The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises.

A panel may be created from which permanent and specified purpose HIPE Coder (Grade V), Galway University Hospitals vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled

Post Specific Related Information 

• Demonstrate depth and breadth of data management experience relevant to

the role

• Proficiency with databases (e.g. SQL or equivalent) and business intelligence/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau or similar) is desirable.
• Experience working with clinical information systems or health data is desirable.
