Job Description:
Position: Locum/Temporary Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant - HSE Contract - Sligo Univerity Hospital
Contract: Public Only Consultant Contract, Specified Purpose to cover 1 wte vacancy to cover Maternity Leave.
Tenure: This position is Temporary and Whole-time
Location: HSE, Sligo University Hospital
The candidate must be registered on the Specialist Division Of the Irish Medical Council and must have relevant relevant experience as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gyaecology.
Proposed start date: July 2026
In addition to Obstetrics expectation, candidates must also have:
Mandatory
- Can provide range of Gynaecological Surgery to include:
- TAH
- Vaginal hysterectomy
- Pelvic Floor repair
- Laparoscopy- Diagnostic and operative
- Operative Hysteroecopy (Myosure and TCRF resectoscope)
- Can provide Ambulatory Gynaecology service to include:
- Transvaginal USS for endometrial assessment
- Diagnostic Hysteroscopy
- Operative Hysteroscopy
Desirable
- Colposcopy BSCCP accreditation
Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the closing date. Candidates will normally be given at least one weeks' notice of interview. The timescale may be reduced in exceptional circumstances
