There is currently 1 permanent part-time vacancy available in Portiuncula University Hospital.

 

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Placement Co-Ordinator from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

 

Purpose of the Post:

 

The post holder will guide and support midwifery students and staff in assigned clinical areas to ensure that the clinical placement meets the requirements of the education programme with regard to planned experiences and learning outcomes.

The remit of the post includes:

· Co-ordination of practice placements to include teaching, competency assessment and monitoring to ensure that midwifery programme requirements are met according to Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland - NMBI)

· The provision of support to students

· Education and support of preceptors and midwifery staff in all learning environments within Portiuncula University Hospital Ballinasloe regarding student programmes

· Audit and support of the practice learning environment

· Participate in Midwifery practice development initiatives as a member of the Midwifery practice development team
