Today, Tuesday, 24 April 2018, Galway University Hospitals Arts Trust celebrated the fifteenth series of Poems for Patience as part of Cúirt International Festival of Literature. Award winning poet Michael Coady launched the 2018 series on the Arts Corridor of University Hospital Galway.
The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) along with the Patient Experience Committee, University Hospital Galway host their second Patient Experience Fair Day presenting their improvement plans and changes that have already been implemented for patients, their families, carers and staff.

University Hospital Galway is asking people to comply with visitor restrictions on St Anthony’s ward and St Mary’s ward due to a number of suspected cases of the vomiting bug (Norovirus). In order to assist staff in curtailing the spread of this virus, it is imperative that only essential visiting takes place during this period. Children should not visit the hospital as they may be particularly susceptible to the illness.

Following the upgrade of the weather warning last night by Met Eireann to Status Red for the entire country today (Thursday March 1st), Galway University Hospitals (University Hospital Galway and Merlin Park University Hospital) and Portiuncula University Hospital have cancelled routine electives and outpatient appointments today and tomorrow (Friday 2nd).
