Ambassador of India thanks Sligo University Hospital for its great work during the Pandemic

The Indian Ambassador to Ireland, Mr Sandeep Kumar visited Sligo University Hospital today, 01 July to thank the management and staff of the hospital for the great work carried out to date with the COVID-19 outbreak. Mr Kumar met senior management at the hospital as well as meeting some of the staff from India employed at the hospital. During his visit the Ambassador held a short meeting with management and staff and offered support from the Embassy for any needs of the hospital and its staff.

Mr Kumar said, "My first visit in Ireland some years ago was to Sligo and I am delighted to get the opportunity to again visit Sligo on my first travel outside Dublin since the Covid outbreak. I am aware of the great job that was carried out in the hospital during the outbreak and I wanted to thank the staff and listen to any issues they may have, that I can support them with.

Grainne McCann, Hospital Manager thanked Mr Kumar for his visit and for the offer of support and added, "I want to thank the contribution of staff from India in providing care and treatment to patients in our region over many years."
