Galway University Hospitals to hold Interfaith Memorial Service

Galway University Hospitals (GUH) End of Life Care Committee will hold their annual Interfaith Memorial Service on Thursday 02 March at 7pm in The Ardilaun House Hotel, Taylors Hill, Galway.

Anne McKeown, End of Life Care Coordinator at GUH said, “The aim of the service is to provide a spiritual space to support families in the grief they are experiencing in a supportive and empathetic environment. It is also an opportunity to meet other families and staff members who have shared the same journey.

“The theme for this year’s service is ‘Le Chèile’, coming together, remembering our patients and honouring their memory, particularly those who died in 2021.  The service will be led by hospital staff who will share a selection of readings and reflections and songs.

“Galway University Hospitals cares for patients from a wide geographical area and we want to reach out and acknowledge the loss felt by all families and friends who have been bereaved.  We hope that the bereaved will take some solace in knowing that their loved one has not been forgotten.”
