The HSE is urging every eligible person to get vaccinated for COVID-19 and flu ahead of the festive season. Flu, COVID-19 and RSV continue to circulate in the community and it is expected to surge in the coming weeks.

Saolta University Healthcare Group welcome the Government’s commitment to 501 new acute inpatient beds in the HSE West and North West region. This ambitious plan will develop adult acute inpatient beds in all our hospitals and ensure balanced regional bed capacity.
The new Regional Executive Officer (REO) for HSE West and North West, Tony Canavan, has acknowledged the progress the Enhanced Community Care (ECC) Programme is making, as new 2023 figures indicate significant improvements in long waiting times and outpatient appointments as well as a high number of patients seen in the community rather than in hospital.
Health services in the West and North West wish to remind the public of all their care options ahead of the May Bank Holiday weekend.
HSE West and North West has plans in place across its hospital and community services to ensure patients can access the care they need in the right setting.
Additional GP out-of-hours services will operate across the region over the bank holiday.
Pharmacies are also on hand to provide support and advice throughout the long weekend.

The OECI Accreditation and Designation programme is considered internationally as the gold standard for cancer care. It focuses on enabling a complete quality system for cancer diagnosis, care, education and research.
