Access to visiting in Saolta Group Hospitals

Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the community, access to visitors is now being limited to exceptional circumstances and compassionate grounds only in the following Saolta Group hospitals:

Walk-in Clinics in Sligo and Leitrim for Booster Vaccines for People in their 50s

The first walk-in vaccination clinics for booster doses for people aged 50 to 59 will take place this weekend in the Carrick on Shannon and Sligo Racecourse Vaccination Centres.

  • Saturday 11 December, 9am to 12pm. For people who had their second dose on or before 14 July.

National Guidance on Visiting in Acute Hospitals

Following new national guidance on visiting, visitors to all hospitals will be asked to produce their EU Digital COVID Certificate or HSE COVID-19 Vaccination Record or other proof of immunity at the entrance. Visitors may be asked to show some photo ID to prove that the proof of immunity is theirs.

COVID-19 Vaccination Information

The Saolta Group has responsibility for the HSE COVID-19 Vaccination Centres in the following locations:

  • Mayo: Breaffy House Resort
  • Galway: Galway Racecourse, Ballybrit 

COVID-19 vaccination is available to children aged 5 to 15 to give them protection against serious COVID-19 illness.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Events This Week

International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day takes place each year on 15 October. As part of this global initiative to recognise, acknowledge and  remember babies who have passed away due to miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, and other causes of infant loss, a number of events are taking place in Saolta hospitals. 

Flu Vaccine for Hospital Staff

This flu season presents a real challenge to our health services. Healthcare workers in our hospitals across the country have worked tirelessly, made huge sacrifices and continue to do so as a result ofthe COVID-19 pandemic. However, COVID-19 hasn’t replaced the flu. It is up to all of us to get the fluvaccine to protect ourselves, our families and our patients.

Walk in COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics 11 - 17 October

Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics continue this week at centres across the West and North West. Anyone aged 12 upwards who needs a vaccine is invited to come to a walk-in clinic for either a first or second dose.
