Injury Grant Scheme

The Injury Grant Scheme is an allowance that is paid to employees injured in the discharge of their duties, without their own default and by some injury attributable solely to the nature of their duties. It is provided for by Articles 49 and 109 of the Local Government (Superannuation) (Consolidation) Scheme 1998 and Section 12.1 of Health Service Executive Employee Superannuation Scheme 2010 (SI 362 of 2010). The allowance payable cannot exceed five-sixths of the remuneration (inclusive of emoluments) of the position in which the employee received the injury.
