Management at Sligo University Hospital would like to remind patients who are attending outpatient appointments to attend on their own except where they need the support or assistance of a family member or a carer, and to wear a face covering at all times.
The Radiology Department at Sligo University Hospital has reached a milestone of one million patient examinations since introducing the National Integrated Medical Imaging System (NIMIS) to the hospital 9 years ago.
Sligo University Hospital, along with the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP), has commenced a pilot project to allow GPs to send photos when making referrals to the hospital.
The Indian Ambassador to Ireland, Mr Sandeep Kumar visited Sligo University Hospital today, 01 July to thank the management and staff of the hospital for the great work carried out to date with the COVID-19 outbreak. Communities coming together to support each other during the COVID-19 pandemic was symbolic during a time of unprecedented change. One such support to Sligo University Hospital came from Sligo Grammar School and its Headmaster Michael Hall. The school offered its car park and facilities to the hospital at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Sligo University Hospital was supported by staff redeployed from Sligo Council Roads, Environment, Fisheries and Traffic Warden Departments to manage the hospital’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, at a time of unprecedented change.
Management at Sligo University Hospital are reminding the public that patients attending outpatient appointments at the hospital to enter the hospital via the temporary main entrance which is currently located on the Mall side of the hospital.
While visiting restrictions remain in place at Sligo University Hospital due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital is very aware of the impact that this has on patients and their families, friends and neighbours.
