Mayo University Hospital Patient Engagement Event

Mayo University Hospital is hosting an event in the main foyer on Tuesday 28 March between 10am and 2pm to promote the various initiatives across the hospital that aim to improve patients’ experience through engagement with patients and their families.

On the day the hospital will welcome representatives from the Hospital Volunteer Team, Patient and Family Engagement Advisor Council as well as some clinical teams. Information will be available for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer or a Patient Experience Advisor within Mayo University Hospital.

Members of the public are invited to learn more about some of the projects that have been developed in partnership with MUH Patient Experience Advisors, including the Patient Information Booklet, Wellness Walkway, Purposeful Visiting and more.

Two new roles within the Quality and Patient Safety Team will also be officially launched during the event; Patient Advice & Liaison Coordinator (PALS) and Patient Engagement and Partnership Improvement Coordinator. These roles work to support the patient and their family whilst they are in the hospital and also bring their perspectives and lived experiences directly into the planning, delivery and evaluation of care.

All of these initiatives are part of the hospital’s plan to provide excellent patient centred care through engagement and partnership with patients and their families.
