Walk-in Clinics for a Booster Vaccine for anyone aged 40 and over this week at the Breaffy House Resort Vaccination Centre

The following walk-in clinics are taking place in the Breaffy House Resort Vaccination Centre this week for anyone aged 40 and over who is eligible for a booster vaccine. There is no appointment needed.

The first walk-in vaccination clinics for booster doses for people aged 50 to 59 will take place this weekend in Breaffy House Resort Vaccination Centre.

Walk-in Vaccination Clinic for first and second dose COVID-19 vaccine in Mayo on Friday

Anyone aged 12 and older who hasn’t yet received their first dose COVID-19 vaccine, can go to the walk-in vaccination clinic at Breaffy House Resort on Friday 03 December between 6.30pm and 8pm and get their vaccine.

People who are waiting for their second dose Pfizer vaccine may also come to this walk-in clinic, once the interval of 21 days between doses has been reached.

Walk-in Clinics in Mayo for Booster Vaccines for People in their 60s and Healthcare Workers

The Breaffy House Resort Vaccination Centre will be holding walk-in booster vaccination clinics at specific times over the coming days for healthcare workers and people aged 60 to 69 who have reached an interval of at least 152 days since their second dose vaccine. People in these two groups that received the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine can also get their booster at a walk-in clinic if they have an interval of at least 3 months since their vaccination.

Mayo University Hospital’s New Text Message Reminder Service

Mayo University Hospital (MUH) has introduced a text message reminder service for patients who have appointments in the Outpatient and Ambulatory Gynaecology Departments in the hospital. MUH runs approximately 60,000 outpatient appointments per year and 17% of patients do not attend. This initiative is designed to improve communications with patients and improve the quality of the outpatient service in the hospital.  

Eight new radiographers join the team at Mayo University Hospital

The Radiology Department in Mayo University Hospital has added eight new radiographers to their team in recent months bringing the total number of radiographers to 33. The additional radiography staff and increased capacity within the unit is already having have a positive impact on service delivery in the hospital.

Final COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Belmullet this week

The final COVID-19 vaccination clinic will take place in Belmullet Civic Centre on Friday 15 October between 1pm and 5pm.

Get Up, Get Dressed, Get Moving at Mayo University Hospital! #GUGDGM2021

The Get Up, Get Dressed, Get Moving challenge is in place in a number of hospitals around the country, including Mayo University Hospital, from 04 October to 03 December 2021.

First COVID-19 vaccines to be administered from the Vaccination Centre in the Belmullet Civic Centre

A new COVID-19 vaccination satellite centre in Belmullet is opening this week to serve the communities in North Mayo. The centre is located Belmullet Civic Offices on Church Road.

There will be two walk-in vaccination clinics taking place at the new vaccination centre this week:

  • Tuesday 31 August: 1pm to 7pm. Dose Pfizer dose 1 for age 12 or older.

Pfizer dose 2 for anyone who received their first dose before 11 August.
